The Cutting Board

Starting out: An introduction

April 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So I’ve got this shiny new blog, but if I don’t say what it is, how will anyone know? Without further dissembling, this is what The Cutting Board is.

What I’m writing:

I intend to write up postmortems of recipes/experiments, share some stories of parties past, and generally blog about food. I might not stick to topic all the time, but this is the purpose of the website: to be a cooking blog.

Who am I?

I’m a college student who likes to cook. I have worked the odd job selling cookware more than once, but that’s the extent of my professional experience. I’m from the Northeastern US, though I don’t subscribe exclusively to any one region’s school of flavor. My experience can best be described as eclectic, and I’m always looking to try new things.

Why am I doing this?

Because I like food, and I like talking about it, and I like writing, and this gives me some practice combining all three. I could try to fool myself and say that I’m teaching someone something, but really, that’s hypothetical at best. Really, this is good practice keeping a journal.

I think that says all I need to say for a proper inaugural post. Next should be delicious content!
